Joliet Slammers
The Joliet Slammers is a professional baseball team that is located in Joliet, Illinois. The Slammers used to be called the JackHammers before the team became financially unstable back in 2011. Eventually the team was bought out by Joliet Community Baseball & Entertainment, LLC in 2012.
The Joliet Slammers are apart of the independent Frontier League. The have been league champions twice( 2011 & 2018) and division champions twice( 2011 & 2016).
The Joliet "Slammers" got their name from the from the infamous prison of Joliet and Will County. This prison is called Joliet Correctional Center & also known as Statesville. The Slammers mascot is a jail bird in prisoner gear.
